Meet the team at BioSense

Fiona is a co-founder of BioSense and has recently completed a masters by research studying biodiversity in the context of design, planning, policy at Trinity College Dublin.

Prior to BioSense, Fiona worked as a part III registered architect for over ten years, delivering both commercial and residential projects. Fiona brings a unique perspective to BioSense, combining ecological knowledge with detailed experience of the design, planning, and construction processes.

Alexis is a seasoned ecologist and a trusted expert in the industry, specialising in habitat surveying, and plant identification, working with groups such as the Botanical Society of Britain and Ireland (BSBI), and the Dublin Naturalists Field Club (DNFC).

He also has extensive ecological expertise in habitat classification (including Fossitt 2000, and EU Habitats Directive Annex 1 habitats), mapping and data analysis, bird, bat, and terrestrial mammal surveys, and has worked with a variety of state organisations.

Kilian is a quantitative research ecologist and environmental consultant specialising in data science and machine learning. His expertise include GIS software, spatial data, and statistical modelling.

Kilian has experience in the private, government, and academic sectors, and is skilled in bringing conceptual ideas through to tangible deliverables for stakeholders using state-of-the-art statistical and computational methods on a variety of applied projects.

Barry is a Director of O’Brien Landscaping, Ireland’s oldest and most respected landscape construction company. His career in the wider horticulture sector spans more than 25 years and encompasses Landscape Architecture, construction, education, writing, retail management, and commercial production.

He holds a BSc in Landscape Architecture and an MSc in Creative Thinking.
