Managing for Biodiversity: Westmanstown Golf Club

Westmanstown Golf Club are delighted to undertake an exciting initiative to restore and protect biodiversity across our landscape. Through strategic rewilding efforts, we are creating natural habitats that will support local wildlife while maintaining the beauty and integrity of the golf course.

Why biodiversity matters

Biodiversity strengthens ecosystems, improves soil health, and helps natural habitats withstand environmental changes. By fostering a diverse range of plants and animals, we are creating a more resilient landscape, supporting pollinators, and enhancing the overall environment for wildlife and golfers alike.

What can you expect to see?

As you enjoy your round, look out for the “Managing for Biodiversity” signs around the course. These mark areas where we are enhancing natural habitats by reducing mowing and applying other wildlife-friendly practices. Our dedicated grounds team is actively managing the development of these wild spaces. Over time, they will become even more vibrant, as more species take up residence.

Looking to the future

Westmanstown Golf Club is committed to becoming more environmentally sustainable, and as we continue this project, we look forward to sharing our progress with you. With your support, we will ensure that our course remains a thriving home for both nature and golfers for years to come.
